What's Up Wednesday - December

What I'm Eating This Week: English Muffins, Tacos, Grilled Cheese, Pad Thai and my beloved "Best Sandwich Ever" which involves chicken breast with cajun season, chipotle mayo, red onion and avocado.

What I'm Reminiscing About: This time last year when I felt a lot more confident in life. I've gone from employed and in a relationship to unemployed and very single. The relationship status part doesn't bother me, that was a positive change. The employment part though, not so much.

What I'm Loving: I am loving that this year is almost over. And grilled cheese.

What I've Been Up To: Still on the job hunt...

What I've Been Dreading: It's hard to properly articulate exactly what I'm dreading. In some ways I'm dreading the constant reminders that when people inquire about what I'm up to these days I have nothing of substance to offer them.

What I'm Working On: Finishing up Project Life album for the year, figuring out how I'm going to use my Happy Planner, trying to finish my 52x52 list for 2017 and a fun (and hopefully profitable) camp related project. And you know, the never ending job hunt.

What I'm Excited About: As long as the weather cooperates I'm planning on celebrating the new year with H. & R., so I'm cautiously excited about celebrating bestie Christmas and starting the new year with them!

What I'm Watching/Reading: I've been watching Grey's Anatomy on Netflix along with a documentary called The Drop Box which I highly recommend (and is on Netflix). Right now I'm reading A Year of Living Prayerfully by Jared Brock, which is pretty great so far.

What I'm Listening To: I usually have Grey's Anatomy or Friends on in the background.

What I'm Wearing: Lots of comfy clothes, leggings, hoodies and warm socks.

What I'm Doing This Weekend: Christmas things!

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Moth: Maybe 2017 won't be as terrible as 2016.

What Else Is New: Refer to the 'what I'm dreading' question above. But I will share that I've applied for my first totally unrelated to camp job, but is still working with people who have disabilities and is much closer to home than the camps I've been applying to. It's still pretty competitive and I'm sure they will have loads of internal applicants (which have become my arch nemesis) but it's worth a shot.

What's Your Favourite Memory from 2016?

There wasn't any one standout moment this year. The first thing that came to mind was a quick visit to camp back in the fall with H., R. & M. there were so many leaves that it just felt quintessentially fall. I also had a lot of fun visiting H. in Toronto back in May. And meeting Meeko at Disney World also deserves a shout out because even if the trip was sort of a do over it did make me fall in love with the place.

December Currently

Reading... I'm finally reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. The verdict is still out as to whether or not it's going to be truly life changing.
Playing... I've been playing Sims Freeplay on my iPhone!
Watching... I'm still very into The Curse of Oak Island. I ended up watching 90 Day Fiance finale and after show because I was just so curious about it all. I also randomly watched a lot of Mystery Diners a couple weeks back.
Trying... To get all of my Christmas shopping done and wrapped!
Cooking... I have been slacking in the cooking department lately. I have been making a lot of breakfast for supper themed meals, most notably pancakes and bacon.
Eating... Breakfast foods! And popcorn.
Drinking... Coffee and water have been my beverages of choice this month.
Calling... Nobody! Which is great, I hate calling people.
Texting... This answer really doesn't change month to month, J., H., R. and N.
Pinning... I was pinning a lot of Christmas games and craft ideas for Sparks. Once I got that sorted out I was pinning Disney tips & tricks and continuing with the Project Life inspiration.
Tweeting... Nothing too exciting.
Going... to Florida in a few weeks.
Loving... The first thing that came to mind was thick cut ripple plain chips that have been my go to snack as of lately. That seems pretty shallow though, I assure you there are many other things I'm loving snacks just happen to be at the forefront of my mind right now.
Hating... Television. I've been making a conscious effort to watch less and to only watch the shows I'm watching and not the constant
Discovering... How easy it is to lose track of time and end up accomplishing a whole lot of nothing after a whole lot of time.
Thinking... The whole world seems to be obsessed with Star Wars and I would really like everyone to just calm down about the aliens? robots? ninjas? I don't even know what the characters are supposed to be, I just want them to go away. Or at least stay away from my snack foods.
Feeling... I think the best way to sum up my current emotions and mood is "cautiously optimistic" and a little overwhelmed.
Hoping (for)... I don't like travelling in winter so I am hoping that things stay mild so that I can go to the city to see H., R. & N. over Christmas and that we can get from here to Florida and back without being interrupted by a snow storm!
Listening (to)... Lots of Stuart McLean's Christmas stories. I haven't listened to 'Dave Cooks the Turkey' yet though, I'm saving that for closer to Christmas.
Celebrating... Christmas!
Smelling... There's a cinnamon scented thing in the scentsy so I've been smelling that a lot. Once the tree goes up the house will smell like Christmas!
Ordering... Nothing. I've given up on ordering things online.
Thankful for... Living close to family and having (weather dependant) plans to see friends over Christmas.
Considering... The options for 2016, especially when it comes to camp.
Starting... To think about Ali Edward's One Little Word project for 2016 and how to incorporate that into Project Life or if I'll make a separate scrapbook/journal for that particular project.
Finishing... It feels like I haven't finished anything in forever. I've started a lot of things or thought about starting but I need to see about a dozen things through to completion.

December Goals

I'm a few days late but I wanted to make sure I linked up with Erica to blog about my November goals and make a few December goals.

November Goal Recap:

Blog 20 Times.
Check! I published 25 posts in November!

Read 3 Books.
I didn't read a single book this month. I picked up a few and read the first couple of chapters but I never got around to finishing them!

Do Yoga 4 Times.
I did probably did a full yoga work out once or twice this month. I have been doing really good with stretching and doing a few poses either in the morning or the evening before bed. I'm going to give myself half marks for this one.

Make progress with 3 of the things on my 25x25 list.
I published one post about the 50 Questions to Free Your Mind and wrote another one that hasn't been published yet. And I got rid of one bag of clothes in preparation for the new clothes I know I'm getting for Christmas. So again, half points.

Not as big of a success as my October goals but even if I didn't fully complete them all I did make progress on each of them so that's something. I'm going to go pretty easy on December goals, it's a busy time of year and I know I'm probably going to set some more long term goals in January.

December Goals

Make 5 Blog Related Goals for 2014.
I'm not sure what this will entail yet, it might be related to posts or followers or link ups or something totally different. I just want to identify a direction for the blog. I've never been good at directions though so maybe that's not the way to go.

Christmas Shop without breaking the bank.
I don't have a whole lot of Christmas shopping to do, just immediate family and a few close friends, but I don't want to go overboard on anything. I'm a big believer that you don't have to spend piles of money to give nice/meaningful presents. I picked up a few things on sale and have some DIY projects planned so I should be able to get it all done without spending a small fortune.
